Privacy notice
For this website and its contact forms. Effective September 2026.
Who we are
This website, www.citezero.org, is run by CiteZero Ltd (“we”, “us”), a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17450795). We are the data controller for the personal data described here. For any privacy question or request, email info@citezero.org.
This notice covers the website and its two forms. It does not cover our research apps, which have their own privacy policy.
What we collect
- What you type into a form: your name, email address, institute or organisation and role; and, if you choose to give them, your research field, role type, lab size and your message.
- Technical data sent with a form: your browser's user-agent string, and a one-way hash of your IP address (we do not store the address itself).
- If you email us: your message and email address.
Just reading this website does not send us anything about you. We use no analytics and no advertising, and this website sets no cookies of its own.
Why we use it
Only to reply to you and to follow up on your interest in CiteZero — our legitimate interest in answering people who contact us. We do not sell your data, add you to a mailing list, or use it for anything else.
Checking you are human
When you open a form, it loads Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that the form is being filled in by a person and not a bot. To do this it processes your IP address and signals from your browser. Turnstile runs only when you open a form, not on the rest of the website.
Who else handles it
These providers process data for us under data-processing terms:
- Cloudflare — serves this website, and runs the Turnstile check;
- Supabase — stores the form submissions;
- Resend — delivers the email that tells us a form was sent.
They may process data outside the UK and EEA, including in the United States. Where required we rely on the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum and/or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
For as long as we are in contact about CiteZero, or until you ask us to delete it.
Your rights
Under UK and EU data-protection law you can access your data, have it corrected or erased, restrict or object to its use, and ask for a copy. Email info@citezero.org; we aim to respond within one month. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) or your local EU supervisory authority.
Changes
We will post any changes here and update the date above.
